New Collaboration With Turkish Ministry Of Health And Universities For Value-Based Healthcare Project
The Global Surgery Foundation (GSF) and the Turkish Ministry of Health, Marmara University School of Medicine and Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University School of Medicine have entered into a strategic partnership for the implementation of the Value-based Healthcare (VBHC) programme, established by the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) and the GSF.
The value within the VBHC approach refers to the ‘value’ for the patient, focused on the health outcomes that matter to patients relative to the resources or costs required to deliver those outcomes. The aim of the VBHC programme is to ultimately pilot a system that uses patient reported outcome measures (PROMs) to improve patient-centred care and work towards implementing VBHC policies. In 2021, the GSF and UNITAR, with the support of Takeda, launched a project to facilitate locally-led initiatives that will promote and advance the implementation of VBHC models.
