International Women’s Day 2024: #InspiringInclusion through Value-based Healthcare
International Women’s Day 2024 is all about inspiring inclusion.
Breast cancer is the second most commonly occurring cancer worldwide, responsible for 670,000 deaths in 2022. It is the leading cause of non-communicable deaths in women. The vast majority of breast cancer cases will require surgical intervention, with over 3 million operations needed per year to treat the disease. Inspiring Inclusion to us means expanding access to safe and affordable surgery for all women who need it.
Value-based healthcare (VBHC) can play a critical role in addressing the gap in cancer care, by using available resources to achieve better health outcomes and experiences. VBHC is about investing in more of what brings value to the patient through shared decision-making and patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs).
